| We thoroughly recommend spending a minimum of 5 days in the Red Centre.
1 day to arrive in Alice Springs.
2,3 and 4th day to take The Rock Tour and return to Alice Springs on night 4.
5th day to leave Alice Springs to your next destination.
You are better off spending an extra day in Alice and leave on Day 6 |
| Our bus departs from Alice Springs every day at 6:00am.
You can:
1/ Depart from Alice Springs and return to Alice Springs
2/ Depart from Alice Springs and depart our tour on Day 3 at the Ayers Rock Airport (i.e. fly from Ayers Rock to Sydney) any time after 10am. The only part of the tour you miss is the 6 hour bus trip home from Ayers Rock to Alice Springs
3/ Arrive at Ayers Rock Airport and our bus will drive directly to Ayers Rock on Day 1. We will arrive at the Ayers Rock Airport and pick you up at 12:15pm. You return to Alice Springs on Day 3 at 5:30pm.
YOU CANNOT ARRIVE AT AYERS ROCK AIRPORT AND DEPART FROM AYERS ROCK AIRPORT ON THE SAME TRIP !! |
| No. You can not start and finish the tour in Ayers Rock on the same trip, you can only do one or the other.
Either start the tour in Alice Springs and finish in Ayers Rock
or
Start the tour in Ayers Rock and finish in Alice Springs.
But you can always start and finish the tour in Alice Springs. |
| Summer (Nov-Mar) it is quite warm at night, around 15-20 degrees Celsius and 35 degrees plus during the day.
Winter (May-Sept) it is a lot colder, usually below 10 degrees Celsius at night and 15 to 20 degrees during the day. June and July can get very cold, often below zero.

| Summer (Nov-Mar) average over 30 degrees Celsius. During the peak of summer temperatures can reach 40 degrees Celsius (or more!).
Winter daytime temperatures are pleasant, usually around 20-25 degrees Celsius.

| Winter nights are often below zero degrees (May-Sept) so you will need a good sleeping bag.
If you don't have one of your own, you can hire one from us for $10.00. Ours are brand new and are minus 10 degrees rated...nice and warm.

| Shorts & T-shirts during the day & a jumper for night time. Winter you can still wear shorts and a shirt during the day. However, you will need to bring warm clothes because it does get cold at night. Long pants, a good jumper, a beanie to keep your head warm and gloves are advisable.
Regardless of the time of year that you are travelling you will need to bring a hat & sunscreen.

| A swag is made out of heavy duty canvas, sewn into a cocoon-like bag providing warmth, comfort and security - the ultimate of all bush beds! They have a 2 inch thick comfy mattress.
You sleep inside your sleeping bag inside your swag so your body heat is trapped inside your sleeping bag and swag. A lot warmer than a tent!

We offer you a real Aussie outback experience sleeping in a swag under the stars. You simply put your sleeping bag inside & get cozy around the camp fire. |
| Keep your larger luggage in your accommodation & just bring a small bag on tour.

| Most people on our tours are between 18 to 40 years of age and International travellers. If you are young at heart & reasonably fit you will fit right in.

| All our coaster buses are air-conditioned & carry a maximum of 21 people.

| Ayers Rock is approximately 470 kilometres from Alice Springs. This is an average bus journey of 5 1/2 hours.
