Can I start and finish the tour in Ayers Rock (Uluru)?
Yes you can book the 2 or 4 Day Uluru Tour - Start & Finish in Ayers Rock (Uluru). You can now start your tour on Day 1 when you arrive into Ayers Rock Airport (we pick up from all flights - Jetstar Sydney, Jetstar Melbourne, Jetstar Brisbane, Qantas Cairns & Virgin Australia from Sydney).
How do I book a Flight & Rock Package?
There are 2 Airlines that fly into Alice Springs, Qantas and Virgin Australia. Qantas fly from Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Darwin, Perth, Melbourne and Cairns. You book your own flight online www.qantas.com.au using your credit card. Virgin fly from Adelaide, Brisbane and Darwin. You book your own flight online www.virginaustralia.com using your credit card.
Virgin also fly into Ayers Rock (Uluru) from Sydney and Melbourne for as low as $209. Jetstar also fly from Sydney and Melbourne to Ayers Rock (Uluru) but are generally a cheaper option than the other 2 Airlines. You can book flights from $169 when they are on Special or if you book 3 months in advance. www.jetstar.com

What is the best itinerary and how many days do I need in the Red Centre?
We highly recommend spending a minimum of 5 days in the Red Centre. Day 1 - arrive in Alice Springs. Day 2, 3 and 4 to take The Rock Tour and return to Alice Springs on night 4 at 5:00pm. Go out to dinner with your tour guide and new friends to celebrate a great trip! 5th day to leave Alice Springs to your next destination. A TIP! You are better off spending an extra day in Alice Springs to recover from 3 awesome days in the outback and leave on Day 6!

What are my itinerary options?
Itinerary # 1 - Alice Springs to Alice Springs (3 Day Uluru) - BEST ITINERARY! Arrive in Alice Springs on Day 1. Depart the next day from Alice Springs on Day 2 at 5:30am and return to Alice Springs on Day 4 at 5:00pm. You will need 1 nights accommodation in Alice Springs before (Day 1) and 1 night after (Day 4) the Tour!
Itinerary # 2 - Alice Springs to Ayers Rock (Uluru) (3 Day Uluru) (Rock Drop Off) - FOR THOSE IN A HURRY! Arrive in Alice Springs on Day 1. Depart the next day from Alice Springs on Day 2 at 5:30am and depart our tour on Day 4 at the Ayers Rock Airport (i.e. fly from Ayers Rock (Uluru) to Sydney) any time after 10:00am. The only part of the tour you miss is the 6 hour bus trip home from Ayers Rock to Alice Springs. You will need 1 nights accommodation in Alice Springs before the tour (Day 1).
Itinerary # 3 - Ayers Rock (Uluru) to Alice Springs (3 Day Uluru) (Rock Pick Up). FOR THOSE THAT BOOKED A FLIGHT INTO AYERS ROCK! Arrive at Ayers Rock (Uluru) Airport on Day 1 and our bus will drive directly to Ayers Rock (Uluru) on Day 1. We will arrive at the Ayers Rock (Uluru) Airport and pick you up at 12:30pm. You return to Alice Springs on Day 3 at 5:30pm.
Itinerary #4 - Start the tour at Ayers Rock (Uluru) Airport and End the tour at Ayers Rock (Uluru) Airport (4 Day Uluru). For an extra $120 you still travel 1,500kms round trip and is an option if you have cheap return Jetstar flights.
Itinerary #5 - Start the tour at Ayers Rock (Uluru) Airport and End the tour at Ayers Rock (Uluru) Airport (2 Day Uluru). You will visit Uluru and Kata Tjuta only and camp out for 1 night in swags at Ayers Rock Campground.
How much water will I need in the hotter months?
You will need 2 x large 1.5 Litre bottles to take on the tour. You will need at least 3 litres of water for the Kings Canyon hike and will more than likely drink 4 to 5 litres of water on this day. You will need the same amount of water for the Olgas hike on Day 2 and Ayers Rock hike on Day 3. Our buses carry 60 litres of water on board and your guide will most definitely guarantee you will not dehydrate on the hikes. There are several points during the tour to fill up your water bottles. We are located on the main street in Alice Springs, 78 Todd Street. When you arrive into Alice Springs call into our Travel Shop to re-confirm your pick up point and for 30 minutes free internet before the tour and 30 minutes free internet after the tour! or Please Freecall 1800 246 345 on the day before your tour to re-confirm your pick up point.
How much is the Uluru Park Fee?
Uluru Park Fee is $25 for Adults and $12.50 for Children under 15 years old.
Can we swim in the Garden of Eden?
Effective 01/11/2013 Watarrka National Park close the clock wise hike if the temperature exceeds 36 degrees. The alternative hike is the anti-clockwise hike that does not include the Garden of Eden and a swim in the water hole. The Rangers at Watarrka National Park prefer you do not swim for safety reasons. The level of water in the Garden of Eden water hole may vary from season to season depending on rainfall.
What is your cancellation policy?
The Rock Tour reserves the right to amend itineraries, change carriers & apply surcharges without notice. It is strongly recommended that you have your own personal travel insurance. Cancellation fees are charged at: 100% if within 24 hours from the 5:30am departure 50% if between 24 – 48 hours from the 5:30am departure 25% at all other times. We accept no responsibility for any injury, illness or other such accident sustained while on tour. We accept no liability for lost or stolen property. There will be no refunds in case of mechanical breakdown or weather conditions and we cannot guarantee pick up & drop off times. Customers need to be aware that we operate in extreme temperature and remote areas and act according to instructions from our tour guides.

How do I book the Greyhound Bus and Rock Package?
Ring The Rock Tour Freecall 1800 246 345 or book online. Greyhound departs from Adelaide, Darwin, Cairns and Townsville and is a very cheap, convenient AND CONSISTENTLY PRICED way to travel. Especially compared to Qantas flights.
How cold does it get at night?
Summer (Nov-Mar) it is quite warm at night, around 15-25 degrees Celsius and 35 degrees plus during the day. Winter (May-Sept) it is a lot colder, usually around 1 degree Celsius at night and 15 to 20 degrees during the day. June and July can get very cold at night, often below zero.

How hot does it get during the day?
Summer (Nov-Mar) average over 30 degrees Celsius. During the peak of summer temperatures can reach 40 degrees Celsius or more. Winter daytime temperatures are pleasant, usually around 20-25 degrees Celsius.
Do I need a sleeping bag?
Winter nights are often below zero degrees (May-Sept) so you will need a good sleeping bag. If you don’t have one of your own, you can hire one from us for $20.00. Ours are washed after every tour and are minus 10 degrees rated…nice and warm.
What clothes do I need?
Bring a small pack and leave your large pack at your Hostel if you are starting and finishing the tour in Alice Springs. If you are starting or finishing your tour in Ayers Rock (Uluru) you can store your luggage in our trailor during the tour. Shorts, T-shirts and good shoes during the day & a jumper for night time. Winter you can still wear shorts and a shirt during the day. However, you will need to bring warm clothes because it does get cold at night. Long pants, a good jumper, a beanie to keep your head warm and gloves are advisable. Regardless of the time of year that you are travelling you will need to bring a hat & sunscreen. Other things to bring include a towel, bathers, sunglasses, torch and toiletries.
What is a swag?
A swag is made out of heavy duty canvas, sewn into a cocoon-like bag providing warmth, comfort and security - the ultimate of all bush beds! They have a 2 inch thick comfy mattress. You sleep inside your sleeping bag inside your swag so your body heat is trapped inside your sleeping bag and swag. A lot warmer than a tent!
Do you have tents?
We do have tents at both Ayers Rock Campground and Kings Creek Station. Most campers choose to sleep in their swag under the stars as you do on the 1st night. We offer you a real Aussie outback experience sleeping in a swag under the stars. You simply put your sleeping bag inside & get cozy around the camp fire sleeping under a million stars.
Do I bring all my luggage with me?
If returning to Alice Springs, keep your larger luggage in your accommodation in Alice Springs & just bring a small bag on tour. If leaving our tour on Day 3 at Ayers Rock Airport, take all of your luggage with you. If being picked up on Day 1 at Ayers Rock Airport, you will have all of your luggage with you anyway.
What age groups do you cater for?
Most people on our tours are between 18 to 45 years of age and International travellers. If you are young at heart & reasonably fit you will fit right in.
I’m vegetarian, gluten free or lactose. Will that be a problem?
We often cater for Vegetarians and customers who might be Gluten Free or Lactose free. Please advise any special food allergies, gluten free diet or dietary requirements when booking. We do recommend that you bring snacks on day 1 of the tour as we do not provide breakfast on day 1.
How many people will be on each tour?
All our Toyota Coaster buses are air-conditioned & carry a maximum of 21 people.
How far is Ayers Rock from Alice Springs?
The town of Yulara is 445 kilometres from Alice Springs. This is an average bus journey of 5 1/2 hours. Ayers Rock is 20 kms from Yulara Kata Tjuta is 53 kms from Yulara Kings Canyon is 300kms from Yulara
