8 Day Rock to Croc - Ayers Rock (Uluru) to Darwin

Ayers Rock Flight Information: We can meet any flight into Ayers Rock Airport on day 1:
From - October 2018 - March 2019 - 12.30pm - 1.00pm - pick up from Ayers Rock (Uluru) Airport
From - April 2019 - Sept 2019 - 12.30pm or 1.50pm - pick up from Ayers Rock (Uluru) Airport
Those arriving into Ayers Rock Airport (Uluru) on the Cairns or Brisbane flight in the morning can catch the free shuttle bus to Ayers Rock Resort (Outback Pioneer) for pick up at 12.00pm
Pick up from Ayers Rock Resort (Outback Pioneer YHA) at 12.00pm from the main reception or we can Pick up from Ayers Rock (Uluru) Airport when you arrive.
Day 1: Uluru Base Walk and Uluru Sunset (Meals - L,D).
Your first destination is Uluru. Take in the breath taking sight of Uluru the World’s Largest Rock. You then have time to complete an Uluru Base Walk around Uluru. You will see beautiful sites such as the Mala Walk, Mutijulu Waterhole and Aboriginal Cave Paintings.We spend this night at the Ayers Rock Campground with toilets and showers after having dinner watching the sunset over Uluru.
Day 2: Kata Tjuta & Uluru Sunrise (Meals - B, L, D)
Feel the spiritual significance on a guided walk through to the Valley of the Winds at Kata Tjuta. Be shown bush tucker along the hike before heading to the Aboriginal Cultural Centre where you can listen to tales from the ‘Tjukurpa’ Dreamtime. We spend this night at the historic Kings Creek Station with toilets and showers, 20km from Kings Canyon.
Day 3: Kings Canyon (Meals - B,L)
Enjoy a 3 hour guided hike through the sandstone domes of the Lost City. Visit the many Amphitheatres, North & South Walls and the beautiful Garden of Eden. We stop on the way home for an optional Camel Ride at the Camel Farm and head back to Alice Springs and civilization. We will drop you off at the local hostel where you will stay for 1 night in a 6 share dorm. Get cleaned up and we meet later with your Guide for dinner and a couple of beers in an The Rock Bar (extra expence).
Day 4: Free day in Alice Springs, Depart at 7pm on the Greyhound Bus
You can spend the day checking out the local sights around Alice Springs. We would recommend visiting the Reptile Centre, Telegraph Station, Flying Dr’s museum, School of the Air and Anzac Hill. You can come into our shop which is located at 78 Todd Street and we can show you on a map a few places to visit if needed.
**The Greyhound Bus Station in Alice Springs is next door to The Rock Tour Office**
You will depart Alice Springs at 7.15pm from the Greyhound Bus Station on the overnight service.
Day 5: Arrive into Darwin at 5.30pm and then we have booked you into the local hostel (6 share dorm) for the night.
Day 6 - Kakadu National Park (Meals - L,D)
You will be picked up at 7am from your Darwin accommodation.
We start our Kakadu tour by heading straight for a wildlife cruise with crocodiles and bird watching.
Then we commence the drive toward Kakadu National Park. A picnic lunch on the East Alligator rivers bank (not too close!) with the opportunity to spot some crocs and flying foxes. Then on to the world famous Ubirr Rock in the north of the park. Ancient rock art and staggering 360º views over the Nardab floodplain. Dinner and camping under the stars in the heart of Kakadu at our safari camp. Toilets and Showers at Garnamarr.
Day 7 - Kakadu National Park (Meals - B,L,D)
After breakfast we do some 4 Wheel driving to Twin Falls. From here we take the escarpment walk to the top of the falls for a swim in the crystal clear pools away from the crowds. Then we’ll find a shady spot by Jim Jim Creek for some lunch. A short climb up Budjimi Lookout will reward you with spectacular views of the ancient Arnhemland escarpment. After lunch, a 1km walk through monsoonal vine forest to the base of Jim Jim Falls for a relaxing afternoon swimming in the plunge pool and resting on the beach. Tonight we camp at Garnamarr, at the base of the escarpment. Tonight we replenish ourselves with the Great Aussie BBQ including a taste plate of Crocodile, Buffalo and Kangaroo. Showers and toilets available.
Day 8 - Kakadu National Park (Meals - B,L,) An early start as we head to the Warradjan Cultural Centre to learn more about the local Aboriginal people of Kakadu. We then make our way to Barramundi Gorge (Maguk) for a 1km walk through towering paperbarks and crystal clear waters for a refreshing swim in the plunge pool. Heading home after a fantastic tour along the old Jim Jim road stopping of at White Lily billabong for our last look at Kakadu and a stretch of the legs. We return to Darwin approximately 5.30pm ending our Kakadu tour. SLEEPING BAG HIRE:
The Rock Tour 3 day - We have summer sleeping bags (November - April) and winter sleeping bags (May - October) warm and cosy -10 degree rated. You can hire a Sleeping bag for $20 per person.
Kakadu 3 day - sleeping bags can be hired for $20 per person (local payment)
Extra Information: Kakadu Park Fee is $40 for Adults and $25 for Children under 15 years old. The Uluru Park Fee is $25 for Adults and $12.50 for Children under 15 years old
